Performance Parts

Performance parts or aftermarket parts are mostly used to upgrade your bikes performance. Also known as tuning your bike. And I don't mean standing next to it and saying: "Howzit!" There is a vast variety of parts available for practically every bike on the market today. Off all the performance parts on the market, the best sellers are filters, ECU's and exhaust systems. There are a lot of manufacturers out there that offer these parts and all of them claim to give your bike more horsepower, so it is your responsibility to do some reseach when you want to purchase one of these parts to ensure that you get the most power for your money. Others include nitrous kits, turbo kits, cams, etc.

These kits shown above are do it yourself kits that you buy from various outlets and install at home. On the left is a complete turbo kit and on the right a nitrous kit.

Protective clothing.

This is definitely one of the most important investments to make when buying a bike or scooter. When buying a new or second hand bike at a dealership one of the criteria is that the bike must be insured. I personally think that buying some kind of protective clothing should be another must. It only makes sense with insurance your bike is covered, but what covers you. Protective clothing is the one thing that most people ignore or think they do not need. I mean, "it will never happen to me." Nobody, although some people think they can, can predict the future and know what is around the next corner or what the driver of the taxi is thinking and what he is going to do. Considering the condition of our roads these days is probably reason enough. When riding, there are so many things you have no control of so why not be prepared. There are so many different fashionable protective clothing for all types of riders and riding conditions you will definitely find something that suit you. So wise up, suit up and enjoy the ride!

Where it all began

The first engine powered cycle was build in 1867 by an American,
Sylvester Howard Roper. The motorcycle was powered by a
charcoal fired two cylinder engine.

In 1885 Gottlieb Daimler build his "bone crusher". It was the first single cylinder gas engine, ottocycle engine. It was a wooden cycle with wagon like wheels.

These two are the 1st known motorcycles but it is a controversial subject because the 1867 bike was powered by charcoal.
